Provenance: By repute, Fort Belvedere, Surrey, Great Britain, a royal residence from 1750-1976. Fort Belvedere is known for being the home of King Edward VIII. Overall very good to excellent shape. Two "tips" to the pie slices replaced (about 3 inches for each) and one is fragmented. The mechanism works fairly well but requires a couple of people to affectuate each change. Color is even and consistent and only changes slightly with different leaves are added. All leaves are numbered and original as well as free from warpage. There exist a very small amount of gapping when a couple of leaves are inserted, but it is remarkably consistent. Two of the posts are cracked but with no losses. Provenance Note: On an early 20th century note labeled "Basel Bundestrasse 17" contains the following note in addition to instructions: "This table came from Fort Belvedere and was constantly used by King Edward VIII there.
