George III Mahogany Slant-lid Desk, last quarter 18th century, fitted interior of small drawers and pigeonholes above four long, graduated, cockbeaded drawers, on bracket feet, ht. 39 1/4, wd. 39, dp. 21 in. Top with 3 by 1 inch patch to back left corner and scattered rings and minor discolorations to same; Lid with 4 inch loss to right upper edge and shrinkage to left side; lock area reinforced; interior with heavy usage wear; top drawer with small loss to lock area and long shrinkage crack; pulls changed at least once; left foot with clumsy repair; minor age typical additional defects.
