Seven Silver and Silver Plate Matchsafes, late 19th/early 20th century, six sterling: one English, engraved with acanthus on engine turning, and five American, (no maker's marks), decorated with engine turning, C-scrolls, Renaissance Revival masks and shells, an Art Nouveau lady mask and florals, and classical fleeing couple respectively; one silver plate formed as a rocking horse; sold together with a white metal bale-form, (8 items total), lg. 2 1/8 to 2 3/4 in., approx. 4 troy oz. weighable silver. minor age/surface wear. one sterling rectangular with a few pinpoints. fleeing couple plated box with minor wear to plating of raised figures. white metal bale with minor wear and light metal discoloration to goldtone rim. rockinghorse with wear to plating, and lid not fitting tightly.
