Ansonia Silvered Metal Mantel Clock, New York, late 19th century, with two-train movement converted to non-striking, gorge case with peaked top with central finial over four anthemia, engaged fluted columns to sides topped by fruit-filled urns, with gilt-metal dial with enamel numerals, face and sides cast with scenes of peasants fishing, gathering wheat, and courting, raised on four Renaissance Revival griffin monopodia, ht. 17 1/2 in. small piece missing from anthemion at front of base. some rubbing and discoloration to silvered surface. Movement has had bell removed, and clapper is currently wired down (looks removeable). Lacking bell. key and pendulum present.
