Louis XV Style Bronze-mounted and Marble-top Black Japanned Commode, early 20th century, mottled beige marble top with molded serpentine edge and a conforming case fitted with two conforming drawers decorated with a continuous scene of figures in a riverscape, angular cabriole legs, ht. 33, wd. 48 1/2, dp 19 1/2 in. Back left corner of marble top chipped; back left leg and front right legs with several chips to paint; approx. five inches of missing abalone overlay to bridge; overall wrinkling and minor popping to paint; age typical defects.
