Thomas Hart Benton (American, 1889-1975) Prodigal Son, 1939, edition of 250, circulated by Associated American Artists, New York (Fath, 29). Signed "Benton" in pencil l.r. and in the matrix, identified on a label from AAA on the reverse. Lithograph on paper, image size 10 1/8 x 13 1/4 in. (25.6 x 33.5 cm), framed. Condition: Unobtrusive toning and mat burn, not examined out of frame. The toning is subtle; the mat burn is more visible. There are many tiny (pin prick-sized or smaller) fox marks scattered throughout. Although it has not been removed from its frame, there are no other visible condition issues to report.
