John Ferneley (British, 1815-1862) Portrait of a Bay Signed "JFerneley" l. r. Oil on canvas, 34 x 41 1/4 in. (86.4 x 104.7 cm), framed. Condition: Mounted onto board with cradle to the reverse, retouch, craquelure, surface grime. Retouch is large and small areas throughout. The largest areas are in the l.r. and l.l. corners and large areas of lighter wash u.c. There are some varnish inconsistencies as well. Craquelure is stable. The work would benefit from a cleaning.
