Chateau La Mission Haut Brion 1975 (1 bt) 1982 (3 bts) Pessac Leognan, Cru Classe u. all very top shoulder or better, slight label staining, 1975 bottle with heavier bin soil "Tasted 11 Times With Consistent Notes The 1975 continues to demonstrate that it is one of the most extraordinary wines made at La Mission-Haut-Brion in the post-World War II era. It has a fabulous perfume of cassis fruit, minerals, licorice, truffles, and spicy oak. Unbelievably concentrated, full-bodied, and powerful with no sign of age in the very dark ruby color, this massive La Mission remains extremely tannic and far from maturity. The finish must be experienced to be believed, as it must last 90 seconds or more. This is one of the most concentrated and highly extracted La Missions made in the last 20 years, and I cannot see it ever being ready to drink before the year 2000. It is a monumental effort and certainly the wine of the vintage. In terms of aging potential, it may be the wine of the decade. Anticipated maturity: 2005-2050. " R. Parker, 100 pts. 10/94 4 bottles
