Royal Crown Derby Porcelain Ewer, England, late 19th century, oenochoe shape with scrolled handle terminating at a scalloped spout at one end, satyr mask head at the other, oval shaped body mounted atop a fluted socle and raised square plinth, allover mottled blue underglaze ground with raised gold and iron red enamel birds and foliate designs between shell and acanthus leaf borders, cell designs to necks, socle and plinth, no visible mark, ht. 15 5/8 in. Excellent condition throughout, although underside of plinth has been filled in with plaster to make the piece more bottom heavy for safety. This plaster would be covering the manufacturers marks.
