Pierre Jules Mene (French 1810-1879), Bronze Figure of a Mounted Huntsman with Hounds at Bay, Groupe Chiens en Defaut (Valet Louis XV) , model no. 6 in Mene's catalogue, the huntsman with horn around shoulders, and two baying hounds, ovoid base with mold incised signature, on green marble plinth, (later casting), ht. of bronze 16 1/4, full ht. 17 1/4 in. Very good condition; not a period casting, likley late in the 20th century; as such, no wear to speak of.
