A mahogany secrtaire abbatant or fall front secretary desk with striking veneer comprising a black marble top surmounting the facade with paneled fall front section over three long drawers each with decorative patinated escutcheons with classical floral motifs, the fall front lid opening to case interior comprising an upper open storage shelf with arched cornice supported by two flanking side columns, surmounting a petite drawer facade with central drawer flanked by two rows of short drawers over one long drawer, the verso of the lid a writing surface lined in burgundy leather with central gilt embossed starburst and gilt embossed decorative border, all raised on block feet. Approximate height 54.75", width 37", depth 15".
