Note: Formed in 1902 by Seymour Eaton and administered by Booklover's Library, these whimsical bookcases were placed in all manner of commercial establishments throughout the United States. Lifetime membership was $3.00 and it enabled you to partake of the volumes from these "lending library" bookcases. Seymour was a remarkable businessman and talented author of the Roosevelt Bears series, who parlayed this popular series into a booming enterprise. Numerous minor edge nicks; structurally sound; general light surface wear throughout; the finial needs to be properly reattached to the roof.
