A group of two similar Louis XVI style walnut fauteuil armchairs comprising an early 19th century fauteuil having curved rectangular tapering padded backrest with a molded frame and acanthus leaf finials continuing to padded scrolled arms and seat, raised on turned, tapering fluted legs headed with patera blocks; the other a contemporary fauteuil with beaded and ribbon tied frame, acanthus finials, padded scrolled arms and seat, on turned, tapered and fluted legs headed with patera blocks. Approximate height of 19th century fauteuil 34", width 23" (arm to arm), seat depth 16", seat height 15.5". Approximate height of later chair 35.25", width 23.5" (arm to arm), seat depth 17", seat height 15.5".
