Carved and Painted Semi-Palmated Plover Ornamental Mantel Figure, A. Elmer Crowell (1862-1952), East Harwich, Massachusetts, with inset glass eyes wire legs, on a clamshell base, impressed rectangular maker's mark on base, (minor paint losses, imperfections on base), ht. 4 3/4 in. speck of paint loss on beak tip and one on wing, base has ten small abrasions, a small loss about 1/8 in. on edge, and about 3/16 x 7/8 in. loss reattached to edge of base.
