Frobisher, Boston, c. 1816, with oval bowl, tipped fiddle handle with upturned end, the back of the handle engraved "J.Q.A. to M.C.A.," impressed maker's mark in a rectangle, lg. 8 3/4 in., approx. 2 troy oz. Note: The initials "J.Q.A." represent John Quincy Adams; "M.C.A." represents his daughter-in-law, Mary Catherine Adams, who was married to John Quincy Adams' second son, John Adams. good condition, the handle bears the engraved initials "J.Q.A. to M.C.A." the same initials as John Quincy Adams (1767-1848), unknown but possibly a gift from him.
