Federal Cherry Inlaid Chest of Four Drawers, probably Connecticut, c. 1800, the drawers inlaid with stringing and heart spandrels, on a mitered cut-out base, brasses appear to be original, refinished, ht. 38, wd. 41 3/4, dp. 20 1/2 in. Provenance: An attached note reads: "This Mahogany Bureau belonged to my Grandmother North and was taken from Wethersfield, Conn., to Champlain, NY on an oxcart in the year 1800..." loss to base near left leg; repalced glueblocks on underside; a couple of the brasses are dented.
