Embroidered and Appliqued Velvet Folk Art Wall Hanging, America, dated 1887, square mat composed of cut-out and embroidered velvet motifs and stuffed animal figures, centered with a heart surrounded by a leafy vine, pine tree, sun and face motif, and several stuffed birds, cat, chickens, fish, and a house, on a brown velvet ground, beaded date "1887" at upper left, mounted on a mahogany veneer panel, (wear to velvet on stuffed figures), overall 18 x 18 in. much of the velvet nap has worn away from the high relief areas on the stuffed figures, some threadbare areas on house.
