Mahogany Veneer Stick Barometer, London, early 19th century, broken arch pediment over engraved brass plate inscribed 'Gilbert Lud'g: Street London,' with mahogany veneered trunk and circular domed mahogany cistern cover, (repairs), ht. 42 1/4 in. Note: The barometer was probably made by a descendent of John Gilbert, who made instruments in London in the early to mid-18th century.
