Federal Cherry and Bird's-eye Maple Inlaid Butler's Desk, Middle Atlantic states, 1815-1830, the top edge is inlaid and overhangs the case with pull-out work surface above two bottle drawers flanking the hinged desk interior of small drawers and a prospect door opening to drawers and a compartment on three cock-beaded cross-banded veneered long drawers, shaped skirts and flaring French feet, old refinish, brasses replaced, (minor imperfections), ht. 45 1/4, case wd. 40 1/2, case dp. 19 1/2 in. white pine and yellow pine secondary woods, has two keys, minor veneer replacement at center of front skirt, and center of side skirt., a crack sides and top, minor inlay loss.
