Henry Walton (American, 1804-1865) Portrait of "Benjamin Franklin Ellison Aged 4 Yrs. " Inscribed by the artist "Drawn by H. Walton 1836" l.c. Watercolor on paper, depicting a full-length portrait of the boy standing on a garden path, wearing a blue outfit with white ruffled collar, holding a whip in one hand and his cap in the other, 8 7/8 x 7 in., in a period mahogany veneer frame. Condition: Very good, minor toning. Note: Henry Walton is known for his lithographs, watercolors, and oil paintings, executed in the central New York area from the mid-1820s to 1851.
