Federal Mahogany Tall Clock, Aaron Willard, Jr. , Boston, case attributed to Thomas Seymour, Charlestown, Massachusetts, c. 1810, with reeded columns, diamond-pattern stringing on hood door, crotch birch banding and stringing on waist door and base, French feet, serpentine apron, 13 in. painted iron dial signed "Aaron Willard Jun(r)., Boston" with moon's age in the arch, raised gilt and painted corner decoration, eight-day time and strike movement with red painted tin-cased weights and pendulum, (imperfections), ht. 103 in. Replaced fret and two of the three caps on the finial plinths, period finials lack top turned elements, minor losses on banding, original feet with some re-gluing, object left 1/4 in. applied molding above feet restored, minor losses on dial, strap iron pendulum rod and cast iron bob are replacements, original hands, seating board and red-painted weights, old surface.
