Red-washed Birch Octagonal Stand, Portsmouth, New Hampshire, 1805-20, the shaped top above the incised pillar with chip-carving at the top of the legs and the bottom edge of the pillar, on spider legs ending in chamfered tips, (repaired crack to top), ht. 30 1/4, wd. 18 3/4, dp. 15 1/2 in. Crack filled through top end to end. Flat spider legs; chamfered pillar tips; chip carving along bottom edge of the pillar; birch and maple.
