Currier & Ives, publishers (American, 1857-1907) Maple Sugaring. Early Spring in the Northern Woods., 1872 (Conningham, 3975). Identified in inscriptions in the matrix. Small folio lithograph with hand-coloring on paper, sheet size 12 x 14 7/8 in., in a contemporary molded birds-eye maple veneer frame. Condition: Margins 1 1/8 in. or more, light toning. Note: This lithograph ranks no. 8 in the original "Best 50" and no. 2 in the "New Best 50," small folio. good strong color, the indentation of the initials J.J. can be seen in the l.r. margin upon close inspection.
