Provenance: An engraved brass plate mounted below the door states: Presented by D.W. Hitchcock to the People's National Bank, Marlboro, Mass., November 14th, 1892 . object top right rear finial plinth gone, lacking all finials, later floor-standing base now removed with no impact to the original pediment, door lock repaired, case finish old and probably the first, dial appears to be undisturbed, all hands are original
