Four Cast Iron Rabbit Mechanical Banks, America, late 19th century, including three rabbit eating cabbage banks, manufactured by the Kilgore Manufacturing Co. , Westerville, Ohio, c. 1882, the banks activated by pressing a coin into the slot, which causes the ears to rise up as the coin is deposited (imperfections, paint wear), ht. 2 1/2; a standing rabbit bank, by the Lockwood Manufacturing Co., South Norwalk, Connecticut, c. 1882, by placing a coin between the paws of the rabbit and pressing the tail, the ears wiggle and the coin is deposited into the bank, (paint wear), ht. 5 5/8 in. mechanics all work, three rabbits: one lacking coin plug, one with replaced plug, all with varying degrees of paint wear.
