Philadelphia Chippendale mahogany high chest in two parts, ca. 1770 , the broken arch bonnet with urn and flame finials and carved rosettes, above three short drawers, the center with shell and applied foliate carving, above four long drawers flanked by fluted quarter columns, resting on a base with one long and three short drawers supported by cabriole legs terminating in ball and claw feet, the backboards bear three early handwritten notes discussing the history of the piece, 93 3/4" h., 43" w.
