Set of Six Federal Mahogany Inlaid Side Chairs, New York, 1790-1805, the square crests are inlaid with festoons of bellflowers and pendant flowers over serpentine seats, on bellflower and cuff-inlaid front legs, original surface, (very minor imperfections), ht. 36 1/2, seat ht. 18 in. One chair has a rebuilt seat. Note: This set of chairs was exhibited at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, December 20, 1936. See Lockwood pp. 307-308. Provenance: George A.
