Polychrome Paint Decorated Lapped-seam Box, Norway, late 19th century, the round box with laced lapped-seam construction, (shrinkage crack), ht. 4 1/8, dia. 12 1/4 in. Provenance: According to notations on a letter and index card accompanying the box, the box belonged to Ingbrit Cornellus Kirkeeide who immigrated from Storheim, Nordfjord, Norway to America in 1884 and settled in Norcross, Minnesota. shrinkage crack across lid, smaller one on base.
