Mahogany Patent Timepiece or "Banjo" Clock, attributed to Daniel Munroe Jr. , Boston, Massachusetts, c. 1815, with veneered mahogany waist and lower box panels in banded frames, five-piece pine backboard, brass bezel and side ornaments, painted iron dial and eight-day time-only movement with 'swallow-tail' pallet bridge, pendulum and lead weight, (imperfections), ht. 34 1/4 in. Cheney, Clock Making in New England, 1725-1825 , p. 71 for a related timepiece by Munroe. dial probably relined, replacement hands and finial, mahogany panels of interesting construction appear to be the original.
