Paint-decorated Slant-lid Pine Wall Box, America, early to mid-19th century, dovetail constructed box with arched backboard, with sponge-painted reserves and grain-painted borders, an inscription on interior lid reads "M. S. Masher bought at J. Hor--ns sale Nov. 16th 1874, (imperfections), ht. 9 3/4, wd. 12 1/4, dp. 8 1/4 in. one and a half of a round stains on lid, 1 1/2 x 1/4 in. old loss to molded edge of lid.
