French, 18th century. Louis XV/XVI Transitional marble top walnut carved buffet or side cabinet having a rectangular molded rouge griotte marble top with rounded corners over a conforming case with two paneled and relief carved doors, one panel carved with snake entwined Neoclassical urn with draping laurel leaf garlands, a small compote and foliage, the other panel depicting a covered pot with scrolled handle and Florentine fleur-de-lis flanking assorted fruit, the doors open to a single shelved interior flanked by rounded angles carved with berried laurel leaves, the squat acanthus carved front feet united by a Greek key shaped apron centered with carved acanthus. Approximate height 34", width 47.5", depth 17.25".
