Manner of Joseph Mallord William Turner (British, 1775-1851) Brighton. 1830. Unsigned, identified on mount. Graphite and chalk with watercolor on paper, 5 7/8 x 8 5/8 in. (14.9 x 21.5 cm), framed. Condition: Toning, mat burn, glued down at corners. Provenance: Ex-collection of John Anderson, Jr. (Author of The Unknown Turner and founder of Anderson Galleries); to Hammer Galleries and Gimbel Brothers, New York, to Mrs. H. Hall, Ridgewood, Brooklyn, New York, 1941; then by descent to the present owner.
