Late Holy-Roman Empire Parcel Gilt and Coin Mounted Tankard, late 17th/early 18th century, town mark possibly for Riga, Russia, cylindrical, with flat lid, with boldly cast scroll handle centered by female bust, and topped by trifid crabstock thumbpiece composed of acanthus bud flanked by pomegranates, raised on three large pomegranate feet, the lid centered by commemorative medallion bearing date of 1638, and possibly related to a battle at Brisgau, in Alcase, lid rimmed with, and body fully set with Brunswick-Luneburg coins dating to 1650-59, and with the Latin slogan "Sincere et Constante," the body floral engraved between the coins, ht. 11 in., approx. 110 troy oz.
