Federal Mahogany and Bird's-eye Maple Inlaid Desk Bookcase, probably New Hampshire, c. 1810-15, the top section with rectangular molded cornice above glazed and mullioned doors which open to reveal an interior with shelf above seven drawers centering valanced compartments, set into the lower section of hinged slanted writing surface and case of three cockbeaded short drawers, single long drawer, and two cupboard doors bordered with crossbanding, and flanking bottle drawers with inlaid flaming wood ovals, the ends with recessed bird's-eye maple panels, on vase and ring-turned reeded tapering legs, refinished, (minor imperfections), ht. 57 1/2, wd. 41 1/2, dp. 21 in.
