Federal Mahogany Carved Armchair, New York, c. 1795-1800, the molded shield back centering a pierced splat with feathered plume and symmetrically arranged water leaves and carved drapery, and carved quarter-fan below, with molded and leaf-carved outward-curving arms ending in carved rosette handholds on concave supports and overupholstered shaped seat, on shaped tapering frontal legs and raked rear legs, (restored), ht. 39 1/2, seat ht. 17 1/2 in.
