August Edouart (French/American, 1789-1861) Silhouette Portrait of "Mathilde Aged 9 Yrs. Signed "Aug. Edouart fecit 1841" l.r., subject name inscribed l.l. Cut paper and ink on paper, depicting a full-length profile portrait of a little girl holding a bouquet of flowers, 8 1/4 x 7 in., in a molded giltwood frame. Condition: Foxing, toning. Together with a full-length hollow cut silhouette portrait of a woman, inscribed "Miss Fannie Randolphe" in pencil below, with black fabric backing, 8 3/8 x 6 5/8 in. Condition: Light toning.
