Antonio Nicolo Gasparo Jacobsen (Denmark/America, 1850-1921) Portrait of the Screw Steamer MISSISSIPPI. Signed and dated "A Jacobsen 1896" l.r., vessel identified on the bow and on pennant, the ship also carries a flag with "ATL," an American courtesy flag, a pilot jack, and a British red ensign off the stern Oil on canvas, 22 x 36 in. in a molded gilt gesso frame. Condition: Relined, retouch to left edge.
