Wool Gauze and Cotton "Coming Home" Pennant with Stars and Stripes, America, 19th century, the pennant with twenty five-point white stars appliqued to a navy blue wool gauze ground and red and and white stripes, (losses), 8 in. x 33 ft. Note: A bill of sale accompanying the pennant is inscribed with a note from a former owner. It reads: "Coming Home Pennant/ Sold By Mrs. Robert Snow, wife of New Bedford Ship owner to Mrs. Clarke about 1930. Mrs. Clarke ran an antique shop in New Bedford till about 1965. This pennant she kept in her home til her death in '65. I purchase(d) it at auction in '84. The piece was from her son."
