Pieced and Appliqued Cotton Star of Bethlehem Quilt, Trexlertown, Pennsylvania, c. 1890, the quilt with large central eight-point star constructed of small diamonds in red, yellow, blue, green, and white calico printed fabrics, on a white calico printed ground, with pieced and appliqued vases of flowers placed between the points of the star, and smaller eight-point stars in the corners, with red calico printed edging, and red and black floral and striped printed cotton backing, 80 x 80 in. Included with the quilt is The Quilt Engagement Calendar 1989, in which this quilt is illustrated for January of 1990.
