American School, 19th Century Portrait of Two Children. Unsigned. Oil on canvas, c. 1830, depicting the girl on the left wearing a net cap with green ribbons over her light brown hair, a yellow flower-sprigged dress and white lace pantaloons, seated on a bench before red drapery and holding a red covered book, the child on the right wears a red dress with black piping, white pantaloons, and holds a basket of fruit in one hand and a cherry in the other, 36 x 31 in., in a contemporary grain painted wood frame. Condition: Relined, repairs, retouch.
