Dutton & Company, 1924, edition numbered 3 of 100 copies signed by the author, and additionally signed in large letters "Billy Moon" in pencil, illustrations by E. H. Shepard, pictorial boards, 8vo, (lacking dust jacket). Note: Lot accompanied by typed letter signed by John Macrae, President of E.P. Dutton & Company, on company letterhead, stating: "When Mr. Milne was signing this Limited Edition of When We Were Very Young, his son and the inspirer of these verses--Christopher Robin--thought it would be an excellent idea to have a finger in the pie, so of his own accord he took pencil in hand to write "BILLY MOON" in the first eight of the one hundred copies signed by his father. "BILLY MOON" is Christopher Robin's own particular nickname and the magnitude of his signature is in correct proportion--so he says. This copy is Number Three of the eight signed "BILLY MOON."" Milne dedicated this book to Christopher Robin, and references his son's preference for the name Billy Moon.
