Pair of Wedgwood Jasperware Lilac covered urns or potpourri jars, the pierced lid decorated with egg and dart, the bodies decorated with four ram's masks united by draping floral garlands. Between each mask are four oval medallions, each containing a scene: one appears to show the mythological nymph Thetis holding her son Achilles by the heel as she dips him in his protective bath, another shows a sacrificial scenes with figures making an offering to a small statue of Athena and two medallions with a classical figure with putti, the body supported by a turned socle base on square plinth. Impressed on the bottom "Wedgwood". Height 14.75", width of base 4.15"
