Civil War Fancy Presentation Grade Sword, single edged blade inscribed to "W. A. Gilman" and signed "Horstmann/Philadelphia", with motifs pertaining to the fraternal order of The Knights of Pythias, with etched decoration on both faces of Roman soldiers, cartouches, and trophies with combinations of the letters K.P., U.R. or F.C. B. etched within; on either side of the grip are the letters U and R, the pommel finishing in a lion's head, sharkskin and twisted wire grip, the plated steel scabbard decorated with cast gilt brass openwork mounts of lilies, a Roman solider, and trophies of arms.
