Pieced Cotton Baskets and Bird Quilt possibly New York or Pennsylvania, 1850-1875, composed of pieced red and white baskets each with a single blossom and two buds alternating with squares of appliqued red cutwork double heart blocks all set on the diagonal, a red and yellow bird perched on a flowering branch appliqued at the center, all done on a white backing, red cotton binding, stitched with outline quilting on basket and appliqued motifs, running vine quilting in the open areas, (minor stains), 75 x 86 in.
