Pieced Cotton Cheddar Rolling Stone Signature Quilt, Lancaster County, c. 1880, the quilt with twenty-five Rolling Stone pattern squares set on point pieced with strips of double pink and green printed fabrics with mitered corners, "cheddar cheese" colored fabric borders and sashing, each square center stamped with an initial and last name in black ink, pink printed cotton binding; the backing in a madder striped print, quilting stitches with a feather vine in the border with flowers, hearts, and tulips in the curves; the blocks outlined, the sashing with parallel lines, the setting triangles with rosettes and fleur de lis, and hearts in the corner triangles, (minor spatter near one edge), 90 x 91 in.
