Needlework Sampler, England or America, 1806, the sampler done with silk threads on a linen ground with rows of alphabets above a pious verse, a building with a fence, flanked by trees, birds, and a butterfly over three bowls filled with flowers and fruit and stitched lettering reading "Sarah Birch her Work Finished April the 24th 1806," enclosed in a flowering zig-zag vine border (toning, scattered losses), 16 1/4 x 12 1/4 in.
