Two Polychrome Painted Wood Clock Faces, America, early 19th century, both with arched crests one with an oval reserve at the top and spandrels painted with fruit, and flower blossoms on the dial, with gilt highlights, the other with a floral crest, gilt fan spandrels inscribed: "R. WHITING WINCHESTER" at the center, (scattered paint losses), both 16 x 11 3/4 in. Provenance: The first clock face is formerly from the Barry Cohen collection and retains a paper label on the reverse.
