Ormolu Musical Clock Base and Part Clock, England, c. 1830, with two-air movement by P.H. Paur with large fusee drive above, the base with cast openwork frieze and paste mounts, on scrolled feet, the (incomplete) clock with drum-shaped movement signed "Tonton Lontiehe" [sic] on the engraved backplate, fusee movement, enamel dial and fretwork back, on four foliate scrolled supports to the base, wd. 8 1/2 in. Note: Pierre-Henri Paur was a French maker of small movements in Geneva. He returned to France in 1833 to form a musical box manufactory, but died unsuccessful six years later. His partner, Auguste L'Epee, re-started the business which became the musical box company of France.
