Unsigned, the sitter identified in a penciled inscription on the reverse: "Mr. Hudson a Southerner father of Ella Louise Hudson Scudder Wife of James Allen Lovell." Oil on canvas, 27 1/4 x 22 in., framed. Condition: Lined, scattered retouch, mostly to background and jacket, three patched repairs.
