Queen Anne Cherry High Chest of Drawers, Massachusetts, c. 1760, the flat molded cornice with concealed drawer above an upper case of four thumb-molded graduated drawers set into a lower case of a thumb-molded long drawer and three short drawers on four cabriole legs continuing to pad feet on platforms and joined by a valanced front apron with two turned drop pendants and shaped and valanced side apron, brasses appear to be original, refinished, ht. 70 1/2, wd. 38 1/2, dp. 18 3/4 in. Provenance: A 19th century photograph accompanies the lot, the back of which is inscribed "home of George King Cushing, built in 1812, burned... highboy, only piece of furniture saved from fire. Situate (sic), Mass?"
